School-Based Social Worker - Pontiac, Michigan

Make a difference supporting K-12 students in a Special Education district near Pontiac, MI. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker for an onsite, contract assignment, starting as soon as possible and extending through June 11, 2026. In this vital role, you'll collaborate with educators, families, and students to ensure every learner’s social and emotional needs are met, helping them thrive in their academic environment.

• Active Michigan school social worker certification (310) required; please provide a copy with your application.
• Experience working in K-12 educational settings, especially in special education, highly valued.
• Candidates without active certification must arrange appropriate supervision prior to interviewing.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

• Provide direct social work services to students, including assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Advocate for students’ mental health and social-emotional needs within the school setting.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and professional development as required.
• Lead group or individual support sessions tailored to students’ unique needs.
