As a Transfer Refuse Specialist, you will safely operate a tractor‑trailer truck and ancillary equipment, hauling materials from designated sites.

• Perform pre and post‑trip inspections of the truck
• Operate the truck in accordance with DOT requirements and local, municipal, state, and federal laws
• Mount and dismount a heavy‑duy truck many times each day
• Complete the assigned route daily, leaving the pick‑up location free of debris
• Haul waste or recyclable materials to transfer stations, landfills, or processing facilities
• Secure loads, operate hydraulic systems to load and unload containers, and maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle
• Professionally communicate with customers as needed
• Notify appropriate parties of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or other incidents
• Notify appropriate parties of any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, or safety hazards
• Attend training programs, briefings, and meetings as required
• Immediately communicate mechanical problems to a mechanic and supervisor
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle
• Maintain a professional appearance

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must possess a CDL A
• Must pass a criminal background check, physical exam, and DOT drug screen
• Must have a safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five years
• Must be able to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and internal customer service
• Must be able to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, balance, hear, talk, and smell
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to start as early as 5:00AM
• May be required to work in emergency situations
