Salary: £37,000 – £52,000 OTE + Uncapped Bonus
Hours: 4-Day Working Week (10-Hour Shifts) + Saturday Morning Rota (1 in
4)

About the Role

A leading automotive retailer is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Technician to join its established workshop team in Poole. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities to join a modern dealership environment offering excellent earning potential, ongoing manufacturer training and genuine career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance in line with manufacturer standards.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
  • Perform comprehensive vehicle health checks and produce accurate diagnostic reports.
  • Complete general repairs and MOT-related work to a high standard.
  • Service and repair vehicle air conditioning systems.
  • Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required.
  • Order and manage parts required to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
  • Communicate diagnostic findings and repair updates when necessary.
  • Adhere to workshop processes, health and safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and productive working environment.
Requirements
  • Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent automotive qualification.
  • Previous experience working as a Diagnostic Technician within a dealership or professional workshop environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical vehicle systems.
  • Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet productivity targets and deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and customer service.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
