Sr. Operations Manager

Overview

Senior Operations Manager responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives at the Fulfillment Center. Oversees a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching them to meet performance goals, fostering positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength.

• Drive creation of quality, process change, and Lean initiatives to enable the functional area and FC to meet and exceed the business plan.
• Responsible for overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
• Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers. Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable.
• Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing ideas and integrating them into improvement plans for the functional area.
• Take proactive steps to ensure best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and across the network.
• Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Sr. Operations Managers) to secure resources for projects and initiatives.

• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Walk frequently throughout the FC; facilities over a quarter mile in length.
• Stand or walk an average of 5 miles daily.
• Work in construction/distribution environments that may be noisy, unlit, unheated, or not air‑conditioned.
• Access all areas of the building safely (ascending/descending ladders, stairs, gangways).

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.

• Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field and MBA preferred.
• Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.
• Interest in long‑term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation.

The base salary range for this position is $ – $ USD annually. The compensation package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
