Maintenance at Amazon — Reliability Maintenance & Engineering (RME) partners with Operations to maintain all of the Robotics and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and to drive continuous improvement in our facilities. The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician will support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building, with opportunities to install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.

The role also includes mentoring junior technicians.

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
• Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all MHE (belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more)
• Maintain a positive working relationship across the Amazon Operations facility
• Must be able to move up to 49 lbs, stand and walk during shifts up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching

Please note that, due to operational requirements and scheduling constraints, a specific shift assignment cannot be guaranteed.

• Perform daily equipment inspections and checks on conveyor systems, sortation equipment, and facility infrastructure
• Execute planned maintenance tasks using CMMS system
• Complete and document preventive maintenance work orders
• Respond to and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns
• Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at SAV4 maintains and optimizes our advanced fulfillment center’s operations and works 24/7 to ensure peak performance of automated systems, MHE, and facility infrastructure. As an RME Tech II, you will join a team that values continuous learning and professional growth within Amazon's automation environment.

• High school or equivalent diploma
• 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
• Certification from Amazon's Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program, or 2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls experience
• 2+ years of conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures experience
• 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics experience
• 2+ years of demonstrating safety standards experience
• 2+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE) experience

• Experience with robotic operation and maintenance
• 2+ years of electrical and electronic principles experience
• Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical
• 2+ years of Mechanical or Electrical apprenticeship experience

The starting pay for this position is listed below including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, you are eligible for additional earnings including overtime pay and performance bonuses. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
