Painter; Wet - 2nd Shift

Wet Painter

2nd shift

This position is responsible for performing standard wet paint and paint touch up on SSL machines.

• Perform labor operations such as loading/unloading of the paint line using manipulators or forklifts
• Operate hand tools to demask product
• Properly prep, mask and wet paint machines and parts
• Apply Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques to improve inspection methods
• Apply Problem Solving Tools and Techniques to assist Manufacturing in the elimination of defects
• Other duties as assigned

Reports to Manufacturing Supervisor.

• Must pass any drug screens, background checks and any pre-employment tests as applicable
• High school diploma
• One year of painting experience
• Experience with a forklift

• Three years of painting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge and ability to operate a forklift
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Detail oriented and self-motivated
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a sense of urgency
• Flexibility with work activities; available for overtime
• Ability to operate pneumatic or various hand tools and forklift or other equipment as needed
• Must wear personal protective equipment as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Work a flexible schedule, including but not limited to 12‑hour shifts
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs, frequently move up to 35 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
• Perform continuous, repetitious physical activities, which may involve fine movements or large motions
• Grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist
• Maintain pace with current production speed
• Push/pull with reasonable force
• Bend, stoop, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
• Work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures and dusty environments
