Position: SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Primary Objective

Increase market share and sales for the Dal‑Tile SBU in the prescribed region/area. Increase account base by servicing existing customers and expand account base through cold calling.

Major Function and Scope
  • Conduct weekly sales calls, including servicing existing customers and making 4–5 cold calls per week.
  • Prepare weekly sales and call reports.
  • Develop monthly strategy for sales calls and prepare monthly travel calendar based on the strategy.
  • Conduct area market analysis of top accounts in each area (top dealers, contractors, builders).
  • Research area market product data to determine the types, styles, and sizes most commonly purchased in the area for sales strategy.
  • Grow market share by increasing sales and sales volume while maintaining company‑approved product margin goals.
  • Complete Positive Action Forms for all cold calls resulting in a display, rack, and/or sale.
  • Utilize influence and negotiation skills to sell and/or place displays in customers’ showrooms.
  • Conduct client follow‑ups via phone calls, letters and/or e‑mails.
  • Establish and maintain client files and perform timely follow‑up on programs and projects.
  • Provide PK seminars to customers.
  • Utilize On‑Demand reporting to achieve sales objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Experience and Knowledge Required
  • High school diploma and some college highly preferred. Computer skills including functional knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes/email.
  • 4 years of prior selling experience. Prior customer service experience is a plus.
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation required.
  • Proven ability to work in an unstructured, unsupervised environment.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work under little or no supervision.
  • Proven interpersonal skills including influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate solid time‑management and organizational skills.
