Low Country Lubricants is a growing family-owned lubricant and industrial products distributor serving commercial, municipal, agricultural, construction, transportation, fleet, and industrial customers throughout Coastal Georgia and the Low country.
We are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to drive new customer acquisition, strengthen existing relationships, and expand our market presence. This role works directly with ownership and offers significant autonomy, visible impact, and longterm growth opportunities.
Candidates with B2B sales experience in industrial distribution, lubricants, fleet, transportation, construction, agriculture, manufacturing, MRO, or related industries are strongly encouraged to apply. Position SummaryThe Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new business, growing existing accounts, and driving profitable revenue growth.
This role combines business development, consultative selling, customer onboarding, sales administration, market intelligence, and strategic collaboration with ownership. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and driven to build relationships, identify opportunities, and grow the business.
Working closely with ownership, operations, and customer service teams, this position supports company growth and customer success through strong execution and relationship management.
The successful candidate understands how to sell value through service, responsiveness, reliability, product availability, and strong customer relationships rather than competing on price alone.

Business Development
- Prospect, develop, and acquire new commercial and industrial customers
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, customer visits, cold outreach, and relationship building.
- Build relationships with owners, purchasing managers, fleet managers, maintenance leaders, and other key decision-makers
- Identify opportunities across fleet, transportation, agriculture, municipal, construction, manufacturing, and industrial markets
- Develop and execute account growth plans to increase revenue and profitability
- Represent Low Country Lubricants at trade shows, industry conferences, customer events, and association meetings to generate leads, strengthen relationships, and expand market visibility, including occasional overnight travel and after-hours networking or business development activities
- Maintain active involvement in industry organizations, professional networks, and community events to support territory growth and market awareness
- Take ownership of territory growth by continuously identifying new prospects, customer needs, and market opportunities
Account Development & Customer Relationships
- Grow existing customer relationships through proactive communication and followup
- Identify opportunities for account expansion and additional products or services
- Conduct customer visits, business reviews, and needs assessments
- Understand customer operations and recommend appropriate products and solutions
- Support customer retention through responsive, professional service
- Prepare quotes, proposals, sales orders, purchase orders, and related customer documentation
- Establish and onboard new customer accounts
- Obtain and maintain required customer documentation, including credit applications, sales tax exemption certificates, W-9 forms, and refrigerant-related compliance documentation when applicable
- Coordinate with operations and vendors to support order fulfillment
- Assist with inventory awareness, product availability, and inventory-related coordination to support customer needs
- Manage drop-ship and special-order transactions
- Verify orders are invoiced accurately and assist with payment follow-up when appropriate
- Maintain accurate customer and sales records
Reporting, CRM & Process Improvement
- Maintain an organized sales pipeline, prospect list, and lead-tracking process
- Utilize Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word
- Analyze sales, profitability, customer activity and growth reports to identify opportunities and support decision-making
- Identify actionable opportunities, including high-profit customers, high-margin products, cross-selling opportunities, underdeveloped accounts, and customer retention risks
- Develop and maintain effective systems for prospect tracking, follow-up, and account management
- Assist with developing CRM processes, sales workflows, reporting methods, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and scalability
