Security Installation Technician

This position will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems to include the wiring, equipment, and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems for clients.

• Capable of installing cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines.
• Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
• Perform system checks for proper operation.
• Have knowledge of computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
• Plan, organize, and prioritize work paying close attention to details.
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
• Analyze information and make decisions.
• Work unsupervised to complete installation jobs and be self‑motivated.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
• Use hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment.
• Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
• Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
• Conduct end‑user training.
• Isolate trouble to a customer network, where applicable.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• A+ certification required.
• Significant background (3+ years) in Digital & Analog Camera Systems.
• Significant background (3+ years) in Access Control Systems.
• Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
• Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
• Advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
• Must be able to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficient with all aspects and operation of ADT A.I. core card access, CCTV systems.

Hourly rate: $23.61 to $29.51, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This range reflects the target compensation for this role.
