Job Overview
Clearwave Fiber is looking for a results‑driven, detail‑oriented Fiber Technician who combines a strong work ethic with critical thinking and hands‑on skills to deliver excellent customer service. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities- Splice/terminate fiber optic cable per standard procedures and applicable specifications.
- Maintain, test, and measure fiber optic signal strength from street to house.
- Install telecommunications services by identifying and connecting correct cables at the vault/tap, installing temporary drop if possible, installing inside wiring, installing fiber optic equipment at customer premises, connecting and testing services.
- Communicate effectively with customers, technical staff, employees, supervisors, and managers, establishing cooperative relationships.
- Operate hand tools, drills, saws, Optical Power Meters (OPM), and Volt‑Ohm Meters (VOM).
- Maintain vaults and taps as required and report maintenance needs.
- Travel to sites as needed via company vehicle, complying with traffic laws, safety rules, and regulations.
- Access cable, pedestals, and other equipment by climbing ladders, entering crawlspaces or attics, walking through muddy or brush areas, and digging.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and vehicles; complete necessary clerical forms (time, mileage, gas tickets, material and equipment charge‑outs).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Telecommunications (fiber optic, telephone, CATV) experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills with customers, employees, and management.
- Valid driver’s license with a history of safe driving record.
- Knowledge of current industry terminology, procedures, and equipment preferred.
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces; tolerance for environmental conditions associated with confined spaces.
- Ability to work from a ladder while using required hand tools.
- Read and interpret construction drawings.
- Basic understanding of service order flow and process.
- IPTV / ADSL installation and repair experience.
- Understanding of RUS and company construction standards and specifications.
- Basic computer knowledge.
