Security Installation Technician

What you will do

This position will be responsible for the installation of complex integrated security systems, including the wiring, equipment, and programming of access control systems, CCTV, digital recorders, network recorders, and intercom systems for clients.

• Capable of installing cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to the national electric code, company, and customer guidelines.
• Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
• Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation.
• Perform system checks for proper operation.
• Have knowledge of computer programs including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
• Plan, organize, and prioritize work while paying close attention to details.
• Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
• Analyze information.
• Work unsupervised to complete installation jobs and be self‑motivated to finish work.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
• Use hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment.
• Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping.
• Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.
• Conduct End‑User training.
• Isolate trouble in a customer network, where applicable.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• A+ certification required.
• Significant background (3+ years) in Digital & Analog Camera Systems.
• Significant background (3+ years) in Access Control Systems.
• Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
• Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
• Computer literacy, including advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
• Ability to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
• Proficiency with all aspects of ADT A.I. core card access and CCTV systems.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $23.61–$29.51. Hourly rate will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, internal equity, and market data. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role; candidates with exceptional skills may have higher compensation.
