Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services that support the mission of the VA. The PMHNP delivers advanced clinical care, consultation, and care management, practicing to the full extent of their education, training, and certification as defined by their clinical privileges and prescriptive authority.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently provide evidence-based treatment for Veterans with acute or chronic mental health conditions, utilizing psychotropic medications, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic modalities.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, prevention strategies, and prescribed treatments.
- Demonstrate leadership and collaborate effectively with mental health and specialty care professionals, engaging Veterans and families in treatment planning as appropriate.
- Evaluate and adjust treatment plans to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Counsel and treat individuals with substance use disorders.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory results, tests, and diagnostic studies.
- Initiate referrals and consultations with specialty services.

Pay:
Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards
