Residential Coordinator

The Residential Coordinator oversees daily residential program operations and provides leadership to Behavioral Health Technicians. This position is responsible for staff scheduling, training, supervision, hiring support, and ongoing coaching while ensuring client care services are delivered in a safe, supportive, and structured environment. The Residential Coordinator works closely with the treatment team to promote communication, maintain program standards, and support positive outcomes for clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and support Behavioral Health Technicians to promote a positive and therapeutic environment for clients.
  • Oversee daily client activities and help ensure program expectations, rights, and responsibilities are clearly communicated and followed.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, and onboard new staff under the direction of program leadership.
  • Develop individualized training plans and facilitate ongoing staff supervision and professional development.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and maintain appropriate staffing coverage while monitoring overtime usage.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and clinical staffing discussions to support communication and continuity of care.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings and training opportunities to strengthen team performance and service delivery.
  • Ensure staff are properly trained in program procedures, medication management processes, educational group facilitation, and client documentation requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with program, agency, CARF, and state regulatory standards.
  • Complete employee evaluations, status notices, and required supervisory documentation in a timely manner.
  • Support the ongoing development and enhancement of residential programming and services.
  • Perform technician duties as needed and complete other responsibilities assigned by leadership.

Education and/or Experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, or a closely related field
  • OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of experience in substance abuse or mental health treatment
  • Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of background checks, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect screening, and fingerprint checks
  • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
  • Knowledge of behavioral health methods, principles, and techniques related to mental health services and substance use treatment
  • Knowledge of program policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services within assigned program responsibilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports
  • Must attain training in detoxification procedures within three (3) months of employment for applicable programs
  • Must attain Behavioral Management training within thirty (30) days of employment or the first available class after start date
