• Facilitates communication for assigned student(s) who are deaf, hard of hearing or blind/deaf so that they can participate in the educational setting and access the general education curriculum.
• Work with individual students who are deaf, hard of hearing or deaf/blind, translating spoken and written information into sign language.
• Provide interpreting services for educational meetings, athletic events, extracurricular activities and graduation as assigned.
• Provide tutorial services for assigned students when necessary.
• Work closely with Exceptional and General Education teachers, case managers, and other interpreters to ensure a good environment and sound curriculum experiences and activities.
• Attend parent-teacher conferences and IEP meetings as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Consult with Elementary School or Student Services staff as needed, including notification of any absences (in advance when possible).
• Communicate with parents as appropriate.
