The Manager Engineering 2 provides engineering support for all shop activities involved in fabrication, construction, and testing of new CVN propulsion plant mechanical systems, directly supporting South Side shops including Nuclear, Detail, Assembly Pipe, Main Machine, Sheet Metal, Hanger, and Foundry.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design; or Master's Degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience working at a high level and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks across several engineering levels.
- Strong understanding of propulsion plant construction issues and ability to lead a team to solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to resolve engineering/design/construction issues and drive projects to completion.
- Ability to provide clear direction to personnel to meet schedule needs and represent the organization on project/construction issues.
- Knowledge of CVN 78 propulsion plant systems.
- Leadership of a team of engineers.
