Responsible for providing and ensuring quality nursing care to the patients of Imaging Services. The staff nurse uses the nursing process to
1) identify needs,
2) plan and implement appropriate interventions and
3) document and evaluate patient care outcomes. As a member of the PICC team, this is a professional level position requiring the ability to work independently within the parameters of applicable policies, procedures and practice standards. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to meet service expectations and effectively communicate with other members of the PICC team, Diagnostic Imaging (DI) staff and leadership, hospital nursing staff, nursing administration, physician staff, patients and family members.
Internal contacts include patient care staff and management. External contacts include patients, families, physicians, and outside facilities.
Associate degree in nursing required. BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCETwo years hospital nursing experience. Radiology, IV team, PICC team, pediatrics, critical care and/or emergency experience preferred.
Documented expertise with IV therapy responsibilities (including central venous device management, tunneled and embedded ports) during previous two years required.
Documented expertise with PICC line placement preferred.
Experience with pediatric and adult straight catheter procedures (for UA lab testing and radiology urinary system procedures).
LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS- Current Washington Registered Nurse license.
- CPR, ACLS certification.
- Board certified radiology nurse (CRN) strongly encouraged.
- Professional membership American Radiology Nurse Association (ARNA) preferred.
