Clallam County is seeking reliable and motivated individuals to join our team as Seasonal Park Aides. These seasonal positions perform a variety of parks and facilities maintenance duties, typically working 40 hours per week from April through October, with duration of the season and job conditions varying by location. Under the general supervision of a Park Manager or Facilities Supervisor, Seasonal Park Aides help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming park environments through custodial, groundskeeping, and sanitation tasks.

Duties may include sweeping, raking, mowing, trimming, weeding, campsite cleaning, litter patrol, and routine facility maintenance. Depending on assignment, the role may also involve horticultural, agricultural, arboricultural, or recreational support activities. Seasonal Park Aides respond to public inquiries, assist with basic record keeping, and may be called upon to respond to emergencies. Flexibility for weekend and holiday work is essential in this dynamic, outdoor-focused position.

  • Perform custodial tasks in county buildings and Department facilities, including sweeping, raking, cleaning campsites, litter patrol, mowing, trimming, weeding, etc.
  • Depending on the assignment, the seasonal park aid may perform essential horticultural, agricultural, arboricultural, or recreational duties.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of park facilities.
  • Respond to emergencies.
  • Respond to questions or inquiries from the public.
  • Park and facility record keeping.

Requires knowledge of the field of assignment sufficient to perform thoroughly and accurately the full scope of responsibility as illustrated by examples in the above job description.

Education / Training

Must be 18 years or older.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Prior experience or training preferred.

Experience

One season of documentable experience working in a park recreation facility and environment is preferred.
