The Assistant Manager supports the Restaurant General Manager in leading daily operations, developing the team, and delivering outstanding guest experiences. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, maintaining brand standards, and ensuring financial and people goals are met while serving as the manager-on-duty during assigned shifts.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure compliance with KFC standards
- Lead shifts as Manager-on-Duty, ensuring smooth execution across front counter, drive-thru, and kitchen
- Ensure food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently met
- Monitor speed of service, order accuracy, and guest satisfaction
- Ensure all equipment is operational and maintenance issues are reported promptly
- Lead by example to deliver friendly, fast, and accurate service
- Address guest concerns professionally and resolve issues effectively
- Ensure dining room, restrooms, exterior, and drive-thru areas meet cleanliness standards
- Reinforce hospitality expectations with all team members
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members and shift leaders
- Provide ongoing performance feedback and corrective coaching when needed
- Assist with team member scheduling and labor deployment
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
- Support succession planning and internal promotions
- Assist with managing labor to meet sales and productivity goals
- Ensure proper staffing levels based on business volume
- Enforce break schedules and labor laws
- Support retention initiatives and team engagement
- Assist with cash handling procedures, safe counts, and deposits
- Support inventory management, ordering, and waste control
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly administrative tasks as assigned
- Help manage controllable costs (labor, food, supplies)
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations
- Enforce company policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and employees
- Document and report incidents, shortages, or policy violations
- Prior restaurant management or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
- Basic financial and inventory management skills
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
