Associate Refinery Analysis Accountant – Renewable Diesel
As an Associate Refinery Analysis Accountant – Renewable Diesel, you will record financial accounting entries, reconcile balance sheets, ensure compliance with tax credit regulations, perform analysis and maintain accounting records for Diamond Green Diesel.
- Execute accounting activities to include compiling and analyzing a variety of accounting data and preparing related accounting, management, and business unit reports including development of materials for joint venture board meetings.
- Participate in the month‑end close process including balance sheet analysis, accounting corrections, and accruals so that established timelines are met.
- Coordinate compliance with Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship requirements.
- Partner with plant sites to analyze actual results versus forecasts to establish reasonableness.
- Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Collaborate with operations, plant controllers, commercial, and accounting groups, as needed, to ensure accurate and timely financial accounting and reporting.
- Work with plant controllers to prepare ad hoc analysis as requested by joint venture partners and plant operations to aid in financial stewardship.
- Understand joint venture agreements and relationships between the joint venture and the partners. Manage accounting, develop and monitor controls and coordinate transactions to record effects of these complex agreements and business transactions.
- Resolve differences between internal and external parties per contract terms and prepare accounting transactions as needed.
- Assist plants with ad hoc analysis, as requested.
- Develop and implement process improvements, new procedures, analysis tools to improve overall effectiveness.
- Apply knowledge to solve problems across departmental lines.
This position is a salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, required.
- Able and willing to work on‑site, in‑person at the Port Arthur, TX Diamond Renewable Operations, required.
- Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe, required.
- Master’s degree in accounting, preferred.
- 1+ year of accounting experience, preferred.
- Experience in the renewables, refining, and/or chemical manufacturing industry, preferred.
- Working knowledge of SAP, preferred.
- CPA certification or currently pursuing CPA certification, preferred.
