Safety Worxs is seeking an experienced local Project Safety Coordinator to support a 3 month project in Port Arthur, TX.
This is a project-level role with no direct reports, requiring a strong field presence and the ability to independently drive safety performance across a large-scale project.
Responsibilities- Implement and enforce site-specific safety programs aligned with OSHA standards
- Conduct daily field inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
- Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions in real time
- Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and workforce engagement initiatives
- Oversee high-risk activities including excavation, heavy equipment, and traffic control
- Support incident investigations and perform root cause analysis
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and compliance reporting
- Partner with project leadership and subcontractors to reinforce safety accountability
- 5+ years of construction safety experience
- EM 385 Certificate
- CHST Certificate
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standard
- Proven ability to operate independently as the lead safety professional on-site
- Strong field leadership and communication skills
- Local candidate preferred
- 50 Hours per week, May include nights and weekends based on project needs
- ~3 months
- $45 – $55 per hour (DOE)
