Safety Worxs is seeking an experienced local Project Safety Coordinator to support a 3 month project in Port Arthur, TX.
This is a Floodwall & Levee Raise Project project with no direct reports, requiring a strong field presence and the ability to independently drive safety performance across a large-scale project.
Responsibilities:
- Night Shift Field Safety Coverage
- Conduct pre-task planning and verify AHA compliance for each work activity
- Enforce site-specific safety rules and project safety plan requirements
- Coordinate night shift emergency response and maintain first-aid readiness
- Perform documented safety inspections and correct identified hazards in real time
- Verify equipment inspections and operator qualifications for all powered equipment
- Enforce PPE requirements and document workforce behavioral safety observations
- Provide written shift-end safety report to project supervision
- Liaise with day shift safety personnel to ensure continuity across shifts
- 5+ years of construction safety experience
- EM 385 Certificate
- CHST Certificate preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standard
- Proven ability to operate independently as the lead safety professional on-site
- Strong field leadership and communication skills
- Local candidate preferred
- 50 Hours per week, night shift. Possibly weekends if needed
- ~3 months
- Per diem available
- $45 - $50 per hour (DOE)
