Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects.
As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Partnering with Bechtel means lower cost, shorter delivery schedules, and greater certainty of outcomes for our customers.
As an ISBL Instrumentation Superintendent, you will lead a team of craft professionals on a project. You will direct work activities and schedules, coordinate subcontractor activities, and support team development. Your oversight will help ensure craft professionals have the tools and resources needed to work productively, comply with project policies, procedures, and jobsite rules, and deliver work within required specifications, schedules, and budgets.
MajorResponsibilities
- Leadership / Supervision: Supervise construction and direct assigned craft activities, including discipline supervision of up to 100 craft professionals.
- Leadership / Supervision: Schedule work to be performed and review completed work by each craft.
- Planning / Productivity: Determine workforce requirements and coordinate established area operational plans.
- Planning / Coordination: Coordinate instrumentation work with other craft disciplines, including electrical, piping, mechanical, civil, insulation, coatings, commissioning, and subcontractor teams, to support safe and efficient work sequencing.
- Tools, Materials & Equipment: Monitor tool and equipment usage on site.
- Tools, Materials & Equipment: Oversee the preparation of Field Material Requisition s for tools and consumables and ensure craft teams have the resources needed to remain productive.
- Safety & Quality: Promote safe work practices, reinforce compliance with project safety requirements, and actively support implementation of the site safety program.
- Quality: Ensure the most current design documents are used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Quality: Ensure assigned construction operations and subcontractor performance comply with specifications and remain within schedule and budget requirements.
- Technical: Work with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals to interpret engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Experience on an LNG construction site, especially along the U.S. Gulf Coast, is preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes, standards, project specifications, drawings, and installation details related to industrial instrumentation.
- Experience supervising field installation activities for instruments, tubing, supports, panels, junction boxes, cable trays, and associated terminations.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, instrument index data, hook-up drawings, wiring diagrams, isometric drawings, and vendor installation requirements.
- Knowledge of instrument preservation, calibration readiness, inspection requirements, turnover documentation, and punch-list closure.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, work packaging, material availability, access planning, and coordination with electrical, piping, mechanical, civil, commissioning, quality, and subcontractor teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to develop, maintain, and execute three-week and three-month look-ahead schedules. Ability to track and manage installation progress, costs, productivity, and craft manhours against project budgets and schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams safely and productively.
