Adjunct History Instructor
The Adjunct History Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, classroom instruction and lab instruction. Assigned classes may occur during the day, evening, and/or online with varying teaching locations including on-campus, dual enrollment, and Early College High School. This position reports to LSCPA's General Education and Developmental Studies Department.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide quality instruction
- Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives
- Attend faculty meetings
- Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends
- Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner
- Comply with campus policies and procedures
- Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in the qualifying field, or a master's degree with eighteen (18) semester credit hours in the subject matter
- Work independently in the classroom
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
- Possess time management and communication skills
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in History
- Teaching experience in higher education
- Teaching experience at a two-year college
Supplemental Information
Physical Requirements:
Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and laboratory settings.
