Job Summary
The Welding Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, teaching NCCER CORE, NCCER Welding Level 1 and Level 2, and other courses as assigned. This is a full-time, two (2) year, grant-funded position, that reports to LSCPA's Workforce Development and Continuing Education Department.
Duties/Responsibilities- Provide quality instruction
- Participate in college tasks, which includes but is not limited to, advising, recruiting, and tutoring
- Serve on departmental and college committees, perform community services, and participate in continuing educational and/or professional development opportunities
- Exhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectives
- Attend required faculty meetings
- Maintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trends
- Respond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional manner
- Travel to various campuses and/or construction sites
- Maintain student records, census data, and grade entry
- Comply with campus policies and procedures
- Other related duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Four (4) or more years' experience in Welding
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Instructor for NCCER CORE
- Certified Instructor for NCCER Welding Level 1 and Level 2
Physical Requirements: Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and construction settings. This position also requires the instructor to work and maneuver in confined spaces, less than one (1) meter high.
