Position Overview
TIC Power Construction is seeking a Care and Preservation (C&P) Manager to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of all care, preservation, and asset protection activities for large-scale power generation and energy infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that equipment, materials, systems, and facilities are properly protected from the time of receipt through installation, commissioning, and turnover to maintain manufacturer warranties, prevent degradation, reduce rework, and protect project investments.

ResponsibilitiesProgram Management
- Develop and implement project-specific Care and Preservation programs, procedures, and execution plans.
- Establish preservation requirements based on vendor recommendations, project specifications, and industry best practices.
- Ensure care and preservation activities align with project schedules, turnover milestones, and construction execution strategies.
- Lead planning efforts for long-term storage, laydown yard management, and equipment protection strategies.
- Maintain compliance with owner requirements, manufacturer warranties, and contractual obligations.
Equipment & Material Preservation
- Oversee preservation activities for major equipment, including:
- Turbines
- Generators
- Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs)
- Transformers
- Pumps
- Motors
- Switchgear
- Instrumentation and Controls equipment
- Mechanical and electrical systems
- Verify proper storage, environmental controls, humidity monitoring, inspections, lubrication, rotation requirements, and preventive maintenance activities
- Ensure preservation requirements are maintained during transportation, storage, installation and pre-commissioning phases.
- Manage preservation records to maintain warranty validity and support project turnover requirements.
Inspection and Compliance
- Conduct routine audits and inspections of preservation activities across project sites.
- Monitor compliance with preservation procedures and corrective action plans.
- Coordinate with Quality and Construction teams to identify, document, and resolve nonconformances.
- Evaluate equipment conditions and develop recovery plans when preservation deficiencies are identified.
- Track preservation metrics and provide status reports to project leadership.
Documentation & Reporting
- Establish and maintain preservation tracking systems and databases.
- Ensure all preservation activities are documented and auditable.
- Manage preservation logs, inspection reports, maintenance records, photographs, and turnover documentation.
- Coordinate the transfer of preservation records to owners and commissioning teams at project completion.
- Prepare regular reports on equipment status, preservation performance, risks, and mitigation actions.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor Care and Preservation Coordinators, Specialists, and Inspectors.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Suppliers, Construction, Quality, Commissioning, and Operations teams.
- Interface with manufacturers and vendors to clarify preservation requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Support risk assessments and project readiness reviews.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
