Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Environmental Compliance Program Leader – RCRA & Hazardous Waste Compliance to support healthcare systems and key industrial clients. This role requires travel as needed to support client locations. The Environmental Compliance Program Leader will serve as the technical authority for RCRA and hazardous waste management programs, leading the development and expansion of scalable, defensible compliance services nationwide.
This is a program ownership role focused on building, refining, and growing hazardous waste compliance programs across multiple regions.
- Lead and manage hazardous waste and RCRA compliance programs for healthcare and industrial clients
- Conduct and oversee structured weekly or monthly RCRA audits
- Evaluate waste characterization and hazardous waste determinations
- Assess compliance related to container management, labeling, and accumulation time frames
- Inspect and document Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAAs)
- Identify compliance gaps and develop practical corrective action plans
- Support survey readiness efforts and prepare regulator-facing documentation
- Interface with EHS, pharmacy, laboratory, imaging, facilities, utilities, and support departments
- Provide technical leadership for RCRA applicability determinations
- Develop and review waste management plans
- Design and interpret TCLP sampling strategies and analytical results
- Assist with waste profiling, classification, and generator status determinations
- Coordinate with laboratories and disposal facilities
- Review RCRA-related scopes prior to proposal issuance
- Standardize audit tools, checklists, reporting templates, and compliance guidance
- Train and mentor environmental project managers and technical staff
- Ensure consistent, defensible compliance delivery across regions
- Support business growth through technical input into proposals and client inquiries
- Minimum 7 years of experience in environmental compliance
- Strong working knowledge of RCRA hazardous waste regulations
- Experience conducting and overseeing hazardous waste audits
- Ability to interpret federal and state regulations and apply them in operational settings
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills
- Experience supporting healthcare hazardous waste compliance programs preferred
- Utility or industrial waste experience including TCLP sampling, waste profiling, and waste management plans preferred
- Background in environmental consulting or corporate EHS programs preferred
- Ability to travel as needed to support client sites
- Ability to conduct site inspections in hospital, laboratory, industrial, and utility environments
- Ability to walk facilities for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to travel to client sites as required
