PALNG Sr DCS Engineer

Primary Purpose

Provides advanced engineering expertise to design, optimize, and integrate complex systems across multiple disciplines. Leads technical reviews, ensures compliance with industry standards, and delivers innovative solutions that improve operational performance and sustainability.

• Provides engineering guidance to technicians and operators for troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
• Creates construction cost projections and evaluates the technical effort requirements for projects.
• Contributes to implementing maintenance strategies to minimize equipment failures and downtime.
• Identifies potential hazards and develops mitigation strategies.
• Ensures cost‑effective procurement of engineering materials and services.
• Contributes to creating engineering procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency.
• Identifies opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Lead configuration, programming, testing, and maintenance of the plant DCS (e.g., Emerson Delta
  
  V, or equivalent).
• Develop and optimize control narratives, logic diagrams, HMI graphics, process alarms, and system architecture documentation.
• Implement advanced control strategies (APC), sequence controls, and interlocks to improve plant performance and reliability.
• Maintain cybersecurity best practices for control systems and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Engineering Design – a series of steps that engineers follow to find a solution to a problem.
• Troubleshooting.
• Data Analysis – measuring and managing organization data, identifying methodological best practices and conducting statistical analyses.
• Equipment Maintenance & Repair.
• Engineering Blueprint/Schematics Interpretation.
• Root Cause Analysis – the process of discovering the root causes of problems in order to identify appropriate solutions.
• Regulatory Compliance – ensuring an organization’s adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
• Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management – the systematic approach to maintain health and safety at occupation and protect the environment.
• Project/Program Management – the process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time.
• Asset Management – a systematic process of developing, operating, maintaining, upgrading, and disposing of assets in the most cost‑effective manner (including all costs, risks and performance attributes).
