Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two identical LNG trains, two LNG storage tanks, one LNG carrier berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The project is to be constructed on a parcel of land located along State Highway 87 south of Port Arthur, Texas, between the inner coastal waterway bridge and Keith Lake.
Job SummaryIn this role, you will provide project field engineering support with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and coordination of system turnover. Your work will contribute to ensuring field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities- Work Planning & Packaging: prepares construction drawings and sketches, interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.
- Material Management: initiates requisitions for field purchases, prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
- Quantities: verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
- Safety / Quality Control: ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
- Technical: proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
- System Turnover Coordinator: develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
- STR / Subcontract Coordinator: reviews and approves inspection test plans, coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
- Typically requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
- NACE CIP Level 2 or higher (or equivalent) certification is preferred.
- Experience in specifying coatings for a variety of materials and how coating compatibilities work.
- Experience with intumescent systems is preferred.
- Experience working in direct hire and subcontract construction environments is preferred.
- Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures is preferred.
- Experience in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, minerals processing or power generating station construction is preferred.
- Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including Aconex, TEAMWorks, DSC, Unifier, and other automation tools is an asset.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving ability.
