Project Overview:
Port Arthur LNG, LLC (PALNG) is developing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on a site located on the western shoreline of the Port Arthur Canal in Jefferson County, Texas. The project base scope will include two (2) identical LNG trains, two (2) LNG Storage Tanks, one (1) LNG Carrier Berth, and associated utilities/facilities. The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing site civil and marine scopes of work associated with our scopes of work on the Energy GBU LNG projects.

As the #1 LNG EPC contractor by installed capacity, Bechtel has the capability to successfully deliver a broad range of LNG projects through our integrated EPC self-perform model, strategic partnerships, and proven experience in LNG project delivery. Partnering with Bechtel means lower cost, shorter delivery schedules, and greater certainty of outcomes for our customers.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.

Major Responsibilities
  • Work Planning & Packaging
    • Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
    • Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
  • Material Management
    • Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
    • Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
  • Quantities
    • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
  • Safety / Quality Control
    • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Technical
    • Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
  • System Turnover Coordinator
    • For Direct Hire Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
  • STR / Subcontract Coordinator
    • Reviews and approves inspection test plans
    • Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and

Skills:

  • Experience with the NEC.
  • Experience with NETA.
  • Experience with electrical safety practices including lockout/tagout.
  • Experience with energizing electrical systems rated 600V and below.
  • Experience with energizing medium voltage systems.
  • Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams and familiarity with relay settings.
  • Experience working on the U.S. Gulf Coast is preferred.
  • Ability to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
