Job Description About the job

Kent is looking for a DCS Commissioning Tech to be based in Port Arthur, TX and support regional project site(s).

The DCS Commissioning Technicians will execute test activities, ensure instruments are perfectly configured and working optimally, delivering on safety, quality, time and costs of the tests in their remit.

Skills and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of DCS components including I/O modules, controllers, servers, HMIs, and networking equipment.
  • Support operations by ensuring proper functioning of control loops, alarms, and interlocks.
  • Assist with configuration updates, logic modifications, and system backups under engineer supervision.
  • Calibrate and maintain field instrumentation associated with the DCS, such as transmitters, control valves, and analyzers.
  • Respond to system alarms and operator‑reported issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with process operators and engineers during plant startups, shutdowns, and emergency situations.
  • Support the integration of new equipment or process changes into the DCS.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, configurations, and system changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, API, IEC).
  • Participate in plant turnarounds, shutdowns, and commissioning activities as required.
