Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Production Engineer for our chemical manufacturing client. This is an in-office position located in the Beaumont / Port Arthur area with up to 10% domestic travel as necessary.
Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.
- Base salary of $140k - $160k DOE plus bonus opportunity and excellent benefits
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and 10+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
- 7+ years experience in distillation and batch processing required
- Strong process and project design experience required
- Leading the operation of distillation projects and/or hydrogenation reactors.
- Understanding and working with plant utilities.
- Working with Plant Management to provide data and chemical engineering support for specific product campaigns.
- Working closely with Technical Advising and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet plant goals.
- Work closely with QA personnel to ensure that all product specifications are met.
- Assist the Engineering Department in developing cost effective projects to optimize production.
- Develop procedures for items already in production or to be produced in the future.
- Troubleshooting plant operations when actual operations do not meet the expected results.
- Generating reports that detail including mass balances, process data analysis and de-bottlenecking proposals.
- Developing and maintaining specific schedules to meet production demand.
- Ensuring projects are running efficiently by working with plant personnel, technical advisors and data analysis.
- Actively participating with operators in the field to help identify process and HSEQ improvements.
- Communicating technical information and issues to plant personnel at all levels within the organization, when needed
- Lead process improvement meetings with plant personnel for the main projects.
- Lead project planning meetings to discuss all items related to the project execution.
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and 10+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
- 7+ years experience in distillation and batch processing required
- Strong process and project design experience required
- Honeywell Experion and MS Project experience strongly preferred
