About the roleThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides and delivers health and safety services that develop and maintain healthy and safe workplace environments, including occupational, primary, and emergency medical services. The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses risks, promotes wellness, prevents injury, and protects employees from exposure to work-related or environmental hazards. This will include providing occupational health and injury management advice, support, and direction to enable successful resolution of work injury and health related issues.
We are currently staffing for PRN/Part-Time Registered Nurses for one of our industrial clients in Port Arthur, TX
. Candidates must be local and able to commute to the work site for the scheduled shifts. There are two options in terms of scheduling: nights 10‑hour shifts 5:30 PM‑3:30 AM and day shifts – 6:00 AM‑6:00 PM and 5:30 AM‑2:30 PM.
- Providing first aid to employees who are injured or ill.
- Evaluating an employee’s health and providing an initial diagnosis of medical conditions.
- Use the Electronic Medical Records Systems as required and ensure accuracy and maintenance of.
- Monitor the status of project personnel hospitalized in regional facilities and all medical records.
- Educate employers, workers, and employees regarding preventing and controlling workplace injury and illness.
- Meet health and safety standards to reduce work‑related injuries.
- Performing wound care, such as cleaning and bandaging.
- Drawing blood, urine samples, and other body fluids for lab work; provides immunizations to employees.
- Determine and communicate fitness for work and train others in the provision of this service including the following: case management of injury/illness, routine and non‑routine travel preparation, and occupational evaluations.
- Perform, analyze, and evaluate health screening data to identify possible workplace exposures as required by global Medical and Occupational Health (MOH) and applicable local laws and regulations. Make recommendations to management based on individual and worker group results. Would also train others to provide this service.
- Coordinate and conduct Alcohol and Drug Use (ADU) testing services, vision and hearing tests as needed.
- Actively participate in MOH and Safety, Security, Health, and Environment (SSHE) committees, projects, and initiatives.
- Manage clinic resources effectively and appropriately.
- Administer triage system.
- Facilitate and coordinate required lab work and diagnostic testing or medical imaging requirements.
- Ensure that all medical equipment is in working order and properly maintained.
- Establish and manage a monthly equipment checklist register.
- Establish and manage the asset register.
- Establish and manage the equipment maintenance and calibration schedule.
- Make weekly inventory of drugs, equipment, and consumables.
- Coordinate stocking and control of medications and medical supplies.
- Ensure medications and supplies are properly stored and within use by dates.
- Inspect and accept shipments of medications and supplies.
- Maintain a controlled drug register in compliance with all applicable laws.
- Carry out safe standards of nursing care according to legislation, Standard Operating Project policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Completion of an accredited registered nurse program
- Possess the critical skills and relevant current training to deliver emergency and routine medical care.
- Be current and certified in Advanced Life Support protocols.
Required Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years of emergency/urgent care experience.
- Occupational Medicine experience (preferred).
- Mental Health/First Aid Instructor.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas RN license.
- ACLS.
- BLS.
Required Languages
- Excellent written and oral English.
