Butcher​/Meat Cutter; Carnicero

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled butcher (carnicero)/meat cutter/meat clerk to join our meat department. You will be responsible for providing high‑quality cuts of beef, pork, and poultry, ensuring our display cases are always fresh and inviting. This role requires excellent knife skills, a deep knowledge of traditional meat cuts, and the ability to provide exceptional service to our customers in both English and Spanish.

• Meat Preparation: Cut, trim, bone, and grind various meats according to customer requests and store standards.
• Customer Service: Assist customers with their selections, providing recommendations on different cuts.
• Display Management: Arrange and stock the meat display case to ensure products look attractive and are clearly labeled with correct pricing.
• Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean and sanitized work area, following all food safety regulations and safely operating equipment like saws and slicers.
• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels and rotate inventory to ensure maximum freshness.

• Experience: Proven experience as a butcher or meat cutter, preferably in a retail or carnicería setting.
• Bilingual: Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish.
• Skills: Exceptional knife skills and experience with meat saws, grinders, and other equipment.
• Certification: Must have (or be able to obtain) a Food Handler’s Certificate.
