Position Summary

The role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving boiler, steam generator, instrumentation, control, and electrical systems. Key duties include calibrating and repairing equipment, diagnosing and resolving system issues, supporting preventive maintenance and reliability efforts, managing I&E work orders and documentation.

  • Calibrate, test, configure, and verify boiler, gas conditioning, emissions monitoring and steam generator instrumentation, including PLCs, transmitters, flow meters, level devices, analyzers, control valves, safety interlocks, and related circuitry.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic, electronic, analog, and digital process control instrumentation.
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, including process controls, lighting, conduit, receptacles, motor controls, relays, contractors, starters, motors, pumps, valves, electrical services, generators, and low- to high-voltage equipment.
  • Configure controls for steam flow, water usage, and temperature according to specifications.
  • Set up new instruments, control systems, and related circuitry.
  • Cut, bend, and install tubing for instrument installations.
  • Diagnose complex electrical and instrumentation issues, troubleshoot field problems, and determine safe, effective corrective actions.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, or replace defective equipment parts, components, circuits, panels, and related systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and functional testing to support equipment reliability.
  • Investigate instrumentation, logic, and equipment failures; perform root cause failure analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
  • Make equipment repairs and modifications based on operational learnings.
  • Manage and maintain critical spare parts inventory.
  • Manage and prioritize I&E work orders to ensure efficient resource use and timely completion.
  • Create, maintain, and verify instrumentation and electrical engineering drawings.
  • Lay out work in a planned, organized manner and maintain clean, safe work areas across offshore and onshore sites.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and project teams on new installations, upgrades, system modifications, commissioning, and start-up activities while ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
  • Lead or support training for Operations personnel in safe boiler and steam generator operation.
  • Support Lean initiatives, workflow process improvements, special projects, and other assignments as required.
  • Assist with mechanical or operational tasks outside primary I&E duties when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to configure, calibrate, certify, and maintain instrumentation equipment and scales.
  • Ability to read and follow flow diagrams, mechanical configuration drawings, P&, and electronic schematics.
