Are you an organized, creative professional who enjoys supporting programs that make a difference in the community? In this role, you'll provide administrative and program support that helps plan, coordinate, and deliver a variety of departmental initiatives, events, and services with our Mosquito & Aquatic Weed Control division. From organizing records and managing inventory to assisting with community outreach and special events, you'll play an important role in keeping programs running smoothly.

Working closely with program staff, you'll assist with planning, scheduling, promoting, and implementing departmental programs, meetings, and events. You'll help prepare marketing materials, correspondence, reports, social media content, and other communications while maintaining accurate records and databases to track program activities and performance.

You'll also manage inventory of equipment and supplies, assist with purchasing and recordkeeping, process deposits and other financial transactions, and ensure materials are available to support daily operations. Throughout the day, you'll provide outstanding customer service by responding to inquiries, assisting visitors, and serving as a resource for program participants, community partners, and the public.

Education & Credentials That Power This Role

Education and Experience:

An equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Two (2) years of experience related to area of assignment.

Licenses and/or Certificates:

* Must maintain a valid driver's license.

Your Purpose & Day-To-Day Journey

You have a working knowledge of departmental procedures, modern office practices, and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience supporting community programs, municipal services, or public sector operations is a plus.

You're organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accurate records, reports, and program documentation. You have strong time management, basic math, and administrative skills, along with experience using office technology and software to support daily operations.

You enjoy working with people and providing exceptional customer service. Whether communicating with coworkers, community partners, or the public, you're able to build positive relationships, answer questions, and provide helpful guidance in a professional and friendly manner.

You communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and are comfortable preparing correspondence, reports, promotional materials, and presentations. You're confident introducing programs to a variety of audiences and supporting outreach efforts that promote departmental services and community engagement.

Above all, you're a collaborative team player who takes initiative, solves problems with sound judgment, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Walking, sitting, hearing, seeing up close, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions. Dependent upon position assignment, may frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environment but may be moderately exposed to disagreeable elements (e.g., irate customers, extreme noise, heat, odors, heights and/or dust).
