The Dietary Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the preparation of all food items as per standardized recipes and special diet orders. The role assists the Health Center Dietitian with the Health Center food service program and provides the level of supervision necessary to ensure courteous and efficient service as well as high quality and nutritious foods.

• Assist in the planning, scheduling, and supervision of Health Center dietary staff.
• Assist in developing all menus and standardized recipes for Health Center residents, assessing preferences and nutritional needs.
• Determine the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus, place food orders, and ensure supplies are obtained in adequate time for meal production.
• Ensure staff education is provided to dietary staff and culinary team in accordance with the staff education plan, and provide on-the-job training for Health Center dietary staff.
• Develop work assignments for all dietary staff, assign specific jobs, and spot-check work to ensure standards are met.
• Maintain completion of hall trays with accuracy.
• Contact the dietitian for unplanned or special therapeutic diets.
• Ensure meal tallies are accurate daily.
• Assign cleaning schedules daily.

• Provide on-the-job training for Health Center dining room staff.
• Inspect equipment to determine repairs or maintenance needs.
• Participate in cost control measures.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

• High School diploma/GED required.
• A minimum of two years supervisory experience in food service operations of a health care setting.
• Certified in safety and sanitation regarding food service.
• Experience in a long-term health care environment preferred.
• Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
• Ability to interpret and explain menus, refer, or answer questions, coordinate meal service process, and understand requests.

Full‑Time, Weekends Required. Salary:
From $17.50 per hour.
