Job Description:

Follows strict infection prevention precautions. Adheres to policies and procedures regarding all aspects of medication safety. Sets measurable and achievable short and long-range goals for patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care. Prioritizes and completes follow-up assessments, evaluating and modifying plans of care as needed. Applies knowledge and skills pertaining to all diagnoses, procedures, medications, complications, and equipment associated with unit patient population.

Adheres to all pertinent regulatory standards, follows strict infection prevention precautions, and ensures medication safety. Promotes an exceptional patient experience through effective communication with patients, families, and visitors, including hourly rounding. Utilizes appropriate techniques, verbiage, and resources in all interactions with patients according to their level of understanding. Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary team, completing thorough hand-off communication in all situations.

Abides by American Nurses Association Scope, Standards, and Code of Ethics, participating in practice changes, process improvement initiatives, and completing all required education. Manages staff accountability and adherence to regulatory requirements when applicable. Facilitates team dynamics of patient care, patient experience, and patient flow including managing staff assignments. Fulfills management responsibilities including effective conflict resolution, patient/staff rounding and communication, resource utilization, comprehensive hand off communication, and completion of unit specific audits/checklists as required or assigned.

Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition, including, but not limited to lab results, non-invasive monitoring data, and interdisciplinary team notes. Other duties as assigned.

* Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes [Required]

Education:

* Associate's of Nursing [Required]

* Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

Field of Study:

* N/A

Work Experience:

* 2+ relevant clinical nurse experience preferred [Preferred]
