POSITION SUMMARY:
The Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves as an essential member of Virginia
B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic, Inc. (VBA) Mobile Medical Clinic’s healthcare team. The LPN supports primary and semi-urgent care services, health screenings, chronic disease management, medication administration, patient education, and care coordination in collaboration with volunteer and clinical staff. This role requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and a deep commitment to community health.

JOB CLASSIFICATION:
Part - Time, Hourly Rate ~ Non-Exempt, $24/hour
Location:
VBA Mobile Medical Clinic ~ Community-based outreach sites throughout Charlotte County, Florida.
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in a mobile clinic setting, including triage, assessment, vital signs, and documentation.
- Assist providers (MD, APRN, PA ) during patient visits, procedures, and exams.
- Administer medications, injections, vaccines, and treatments per standing orders and provider direction.
- Support chronic disease management for conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and COPD.
- Identify urgent or semi-urgent conditions and respond appropriately according to clinical protocols.
- Provide patient education on medications, disease management, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
- Assist patients with referrals, follow-up appointments, and linkage to community resources.
- Support medication access programs and coordinate with pharmacy services as needed.
- Promote health equity and culturally competent care in all patient interactions.
- Assist with mobile clinic set-up and breakdown, ensuring supplies, equipment, and medications are available and properly stored.
- From time to time, assist with patient intake and eligibility.
- Maintain infection control standards, including cleaning, disinfection, and safe disposal of medical waste.
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Support accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and data collection as requested.
- Support a respectful, team-oriented, and mission-driven work environment.
- Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Florida.
- Completion of accredited diploma or certificate program for Practical Nurse
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (primary care, community health, urgent care, or similar preferred).
- Current BLS (CPR) certification.
- Strong assessment, triage, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a mobile and resource-limited environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications..
- Will be required to pass criminal background and drug screening.
- Dependable and punctual.
