Qualifications- Ability to perform work involving physical strength and endurance
- Knowledge (or the ability to gain knowledge) of the methods utilized in general mechanic work
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements to operate a school bus within six (6) months of employment (or ability to obtain within six (6) months of meeting FDOT licensing requirements)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate.
Performance Responsibilities- Assists mechanics in the repair of vehicles.
- Assists in repairs to engines.
- Maintains garage area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Performs tire maintenance and replacement operations.
- Assists in school bus- and other district-vehicles (scheduled) inspections.
- Maintains effective working relationship with other employees.
- Assists in motor vehicle road calls and recoveries.
- Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned.
