Utility Maintenance Technician

Position: Full-Time Utility Maintenance Technician
Join the City of Port Coquitlam in a full-time Utility Maintenance Technician role focused on critical water systems maintenance. Bring your expertise to maintain municipal infrastructure with commitment and care.

This full-time position involves carrying out a variety of semi-skilled activities related to the construction and operation of water distribution and stormwater systems. Under a Supervisor's direction, you'll conduct comprehensive maintenance tasks, repairs, and environmental monitoring to maintain high service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance on water and wastewater collection systems

• Record and analyze water quality data and samples

• Maintain hydrants, valves, and related distribution components

• Troubleshoot and install water meters as required

• Address urgent infrastructure failures effectively

Requirements:

• At least 2 years' experience in utility operations

• Valid Class 5 BC Motor Vehicle Operators License

• EOCP certification in relevant fields preferred

• Familiarity with municipal codes and procedures

• Strong focus on safety in all operations
