$21.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience/certifications

Construction Materials Testing company looking to add another technician to our team. We are seeking somebody reliable, hardworking, and ready to learn/grow. Experience is an asset, but not mandatory. The candidate must understand the importance of customer service, organization, teamwork and communication to ensure the success of our company. The candidate must show initiative and be comfortable working independently, but also as a team.

Previous experience (2+ years) in a similar role preferred. However, training will be provided for the right individual.

• Travel to various construction sites throughout the lower mainland and carry out testing of soil, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with ASTM/CSA test methods.
• Work in the laboratory (carry out CSA/ASTM test methods on concrete, soil and asphalt).
• Keep organized and detailed records of test results
• Maintain a positive rapport and working relationship with new and existing clients
• Demonstrate responsibility for personal safety; attend site specific safety orientation as required

• Class 5 (or equivalent) BC driver’s license.

• Strong communication skills; ability to speak/read/write fluently in English.
• Additional languages a plus
• Heavy lifting required; must be physically fit and able to carry moderately heavy (approx. 50 lbs) equipment over rough terrain, into/out of trenches, etc.
• Basic understanding of mathematics, formulae and reading comprehension
• Understanding and Consent to working with Portable Nuclear Gauges (Radiation)
