Location: GqeberhaAre you an HR professional who thrives on structure, systems, data, and getting the details right? We are looking for a highly organised and tech-savvy HR Supervisor to lead and manage the day-to-day HR function at country level. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working deeply within HR systems, workforce analytics, compliance, and operational execution — while partnering closely with leadership to support business performance.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
HR Operations & Administration
Manage the full employee lifecycle: hires, transfers, salary changes, terminations and record updatesEnsure HR processes are efficient, compliant and well-documentedSupport payroll with accurate HR reports and regulatory guidanceSupport workforce planning and cost analysis for hiring decisionsLabour Relations & Compliance
Manage employee relations processes including investigations, grievances and disciplinary proceduresEnsure compliance with South African labour legislation including:
Basic Conditions of Employment Act Employment Equity Labour Relations Act BBBEE and Skills Development POPIAWork within unionised environments and engage with bargaining councils where requiredWorkforce Analytics & Reporting (Key Focus Area)
Analyse workforce data and identify trendsProduce detailed cost-of-employment analysis reportsUse Excel (advanced), Power BI or similar tools for data visualisationBuild structured, data-driven HR reporting for leadershipWhat We’re Looking For
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources (essential)10+ years HR generalist experience, with at least 6 years at senior levelStrong working knowledge of South African labour legislationExperience in manufacturing, engineering, metals, oil & gas or similar industrial sectorsExperience in a unionised environmentProfessional, discreet and able to handle confidential informationSystems & Technology (Critical Requirement)
High proficiency in HRIS systems (SAP, Oracle or similar)Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data modelling, analytics, reporting)Ability to automate HR processes and improve reporting workflowsExperience using Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting toolsComfortable leveraging AI tools to improve HR efficiencyWhy Work for NOV?
