About the Opportunity
A well-established national road freight and logistics company is seeking an experienced and results-driven Branch Manager to lead and manage its Port Elizabeth operations.
This is a senior operational leadership role suited to a candidate with strong road freight experience, proven people-management capability, and a hands-on approach to operational excellence, compliance, and client service.
Key Responsibilities 1. Operational Management- Oversee day-to-day branch operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and on-time service delivery
- Plan, coordinate, and optimise the use of vehicles, staff, and operational resources
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and operational procedures to ensure compliance and minimise risk
- Lead, motivate, train, and develop a high-performing branch team
- Create a positive, accountable, and performance-driven work culture
- Conduct performance reviews and manage discipline, coaching, and development
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and ensure high service levels
- Resolve client queries, escalations, and operational issues effectively
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and business growth in collaboration with sales teams
- Manage and control branch budgets and operational costs
- Monitor branch performance against operational and financial targets
- Work closely with finance to ensure accurate billing, reporting, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with company policies, transport regulations, and industry standards
- Implement and monitor quality control and operational audit processes
- Continuously assess and improve branch efficiency and service delivery
- Grade 12 / Matric (non-negotiable)
- Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Transport, or related field (advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in road freight / logistics
, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role - Strong operational, people-management, and decision-making skills
- Solid understanding of transport legislation, fleet operations, and logistics best practices
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
