Role OverviewThe Control Room Manager will oversee the full operational management of the control room, ensuring effective monitoring, incident response, and staff supervision within a high-pressure security environment.
This role requires a strong, disciplined leader capable of managing teams, enforcing compliance standards, and maintaining operational efficiency while handling HR-related responsibilities.
The successful candidate must be decisive, calm under pressure, and capable of managing both operational and personnel matters professionally.
Key Responsibilities Control Room Operations:- Manage and supervise daily control room operations
- Oversee monitoring systems, incident reporting, and response protocols
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs and security procedures
- Maintain accurate records and reporting systems
- Drive operational improvements and efficiency
- Supervise control room personnel
- Manage staff performance and conduct
- Handle disciplinary procedures in line with company policy
- Manage leave schedules, overtime control, and shift planning
- Ensure staff compliance with PSIRA regulations
- Prepare operational reports
- Ensure proper documentation of incidents
- Maintain attendance and shift records
- Liaise with management and clients when required
- PSIRA Registration (Minimum Grade
B) - Matric (Grade 12) or higher qualification
- Minimum 5 years experience in a control room environment
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
- HR management experience (disciplinary processes, staff performance, leave and overtime management)
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective under pressure
- Strong people management skills
- High level of accountability and integrity
- Operationally focused and detail-oriented
- Conflict resolution capability
- Ability to manage high-stress situations professionally
