Role Overview

The Control Room Manager will oversee the full operational management of the control room, ensuring effective monitoring, incident response, and staff supervision within a high-pressure security environment.

This role requires a strong, disciplined leader capable of managing teams, enforcing compliance standards, and maintaining operational efficiency while handling HR-related responsibilities.

The successful candidate must be decisive, calm under pressure, and capable of managing both operational and personnel matters professionally.

Key Responsibilities Control Room Operations:
  • Manage and supervise daily control room operations
  • Oversee monitoring systems, incident reporting, and response protocols
  • Ensure adherence to company SOPs and security procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting systems
  • Drive operational improvements and efficiency
Staff & HR Management:
  • Supervise control room personnel
  • Manage staff performance and conduct
  • Handle disciplinary procedures in line with company policy
  • Manage leave schedules, overtime control, and shift planning
  • Ensure staff compliance with PSIRA regulations
Reporting & Administration:
  • Prepare operational reports
  • Ensure proper documentation of incidents
  • Maintain attendance and shift records
  • Liaise with management and clients when required
Minimum Requirements
  • PSIRA Registration (Minimum Grade

    B)
  • Matric (Grade 12) or higher qualification
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a control room environment
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • HR management experience (disciplinary processes, staff performance, leave and overtime management)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
  • Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective under pressure
