Geologist - Exploration

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Geologist with a focus on exploration to join their team in Port Elizabeth . This role is essential for identifying and evaluating new hydrocarbon prospects. You will analyze geological and geophysical data, contribute to basin analysis, and support exploration strategy development. Working closely with the exploration team, you will play a crucial part in defining drilling targets and maximizing the success rate of exploration campaigns.

• Analyze and interpret geological, geophysical, and well data to identify potential hydrocarbon reserves.
• Develop and refine regional and prospect-level geological models.
• Prepare prospect evaluations, including volumetric assessments and risk analysis.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers to integrate multidisciplinary datasets.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of seismic surveys and other exploration activities.
• Present geological findings and recommendations to the exploration team and management.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of basin geology and exploration trends.

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences;
  Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in exploration geology , preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in geological modeling and interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
• Experience with seismic data interpretation and subsurface mapping techniques.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
