Broadband Network Technician

Our client is seeking a diligent Broadband Network Technician to join their field operations team serving the Port Elizabeth area. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of broadband network infrastructure, ensuring reliable internet connectivity for residential and business customers. You will work directly with customers, troubleshooting connectivity issues and ensuring satisfaction with our services. The ideal candidate is technically proficient, customer-focused, and capable of working independently in a demanding, on-the-ground environment, playing a key role in delivering high-quality broadband services.

• Install and activate broadband services, including modems, routers, and associated cabling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues for customers, both remotely and on-site.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network equipment and infrastructure.
• Test network performance and signal strength to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Educate customers on the use of their broadband services and equipment.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a professional demeanor during customer interactions.

• Previous experience in a similar telecommunications or network installation role.
• Knowledge of broadband technologies (DSL, Cable, Fiber) and networking principles.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the service area.
