Security/Clearance: A Company Background Investigation, CAC, US Citizenship, and a secret security clearance are required for this position.
System: The NATO SEASPARROW Surface Missile System (NSSMS) Mk 57. The Mk 57 NATO Sea Sparrow is a medium-range, rapid-reaction missile weapon system that provides the capability to destroy hostile aircraft, anti-ship missiles, and airborne and surface-to-air missile platforms with surface-to-air missiles.
- Conduct research and comprehensive design studies into development, acquisition, and/or in-service engineering for assigned equipment.
- Evaluate performance related to hardware reliability, operation, performance, and/or maintainability problems, and propose design changes, advanced development changes, or system improvements; utilize knowledge of research and developmental activities and technological advances to incorporate them into assigned projects.
- Routinely apply reliability and maintainability techniques during design studies (e.g., FMECA, stress analysis, fault tree analysis, reliability modeling) for trade-off evaluations; generate reports identifying findings and reasons for recommendations (e.g., ECPs, MRCs, ORDALTs, TRS, or other documentation).
- Prepare, modify, review, and update technical documentation for all phases of lifecycle support; provide analytical evaluations of development, interface, or end item specifications, test requirements/plans, production drawings, and operating manuals.
- Review documentation for technical accuracy and adequacy; determine compliance with Navy instructions and specifications.
- Provide technical evaluation and solutions to fleet problems; review problems reported in messages, CASREPs, Feedback Reports, or other sources; research NAVSEA readiness data and develop corrective actions; produce interim modifications, technical bulletins, ECPs, or test plans; generate reports for relevant Code within the E60 Division.
- Provide technical consultative information and maintain knowledge on design, configuration, and problems of the system; maintain contact with the design agent and technical community.
- Keep informed of relevant technical information and hardware/software upgrades for MK9 TIS and MK29 GMLS; provide technical support for configuration management, data design (drawings, specs.), logistics support (APLs, TRS), and technical manuals (TMDR, etc.).
- 8 to 12 years as a Fire Control Technician (NEC V31A) with experience in MK 57 NSSMS Mod 12 – 15.
- 6 years of shipboard experience.
- Must possess a secret clearance.
- Experience in leading technical teams in troubleshooting and integration testing.
- Strong briefing and communication skills at all levels; ability to foster a strong team environment.
- Analytical skills to track, manage, and status multiple technical issues.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
