INDUS supports the planning, coordination, and installation activities of Combat System and Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Intelligence (C5I) Systems in aircraft carriers, and other strike group or strike force units (including but not limited to LHA, LHD, LPD, and other L-Class units).

Our team is directly responsible for supporting the planning, budgeting, and execution of New Construction (SCN) testing and modernization efforts in support of the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD). Reporting to the Program Manager, the Technical Writer is responsible for drafting and updates to material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance for the Modernization and Installation Department (N Department), Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD) on the CVN/L-Class Support Services contract.

This position is located in Port Hueneme, CA. What You'll Do
* Develop Overall Combat System Operability Tests (OCSOTs), Combat System Operability Tests (CSOTs), and related combat system documentation for various ship classes, including Aircraft Carriers (CVN), Landing Ship Docks (LSD), and Landing Helicopter Assault (LHA) vessels.
* Verify and validate combat system documentation onboard CVN and L-class ships during availability periods.
* Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to update and maintain accurate combat system documentation.
* Participate in the binding and distribution of OCSOTs for delivery to test sites as reference material.
* Attend test locations alongside Test Developers and Test Directors to observe Overall Combat System Operability Tests and collect redline edits.
* Implement redlines to ensure OCSOTs and CSOTs remain current and accurate.
* Standardize content across multiple platforms and media for consistency.
* Collect user feedback and incorporate updates to improve documentation quality.
* Support Amphibious Assault Ship programs for the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Port Hueneme Division (PHD), Ship Defense and Expeditionary Warfare Department, Amphibious Combat Systems.
* Bid and proposal support if requested.
* Other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

* An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
* HS Diploma required.
* Three (3) years of experience writing and editing technical documents.
* Ability to travel and work aboard ship.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively plan workload and meet established deadlines.
* The individual must be able to clearly and concisely articulate technical subject matter both written and verbally.
* Other duties as assigned and/or proposal development support.
* Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
* Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
* Must possess strong time management skills.
* Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
* Travel Required ~10% travel required.
