New Directions Technologies, Inc. (NDTI) is seeking an experienced and versatile Azure Cloud Operations & Development Specialist to join our team supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWCPHD).
This position is responsible for the end-to-end administration, security, performance, and cost management of the customer’s Microsoft Azure environment. The specialist will manage critical cloud resources, including Azure App Service, Azure SQL, cloud-based servers, platforms, and supporting infrastructure. The successful candidate will maintain a secure, reliable, and cost-effective cloud environment while using software development experience to support application development, system integration, and workflow automation initiatives.
Job Description- Initialize, configure, administer, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure resources, including Azure App Service, Azure SQL, cloud-based servers, application platforms, databases, and supporting infrastructure.
- Maintain high operational availability, reliability, and performance by monitoring system health, application performance, resource utilization, and service availability and taking corrective action when required.
- Diagnose and resolve cloud infrastructure, platform, database, connectivity, configuration, and application-hosting issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Establish and maintain Azure configurations, access controls, permissions, security policies, and operational standards in accordance with applicable Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, and NSWCPHD cybersecurity requirements.
- Support cybersecurity compliance activities, including vulnerability remediation, secure configuration management, continuous monitoring, documentation, audit preparation, and maintenance of a strong security posture.
- Monitor Azure resource consumption, licensing, and associated costs and implement optimization measures that reduce expenses while preserving system availability, security, and performance.
- Assist with the design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, modernization, and cloud migration of applications and services.
- Develop and support integrations among applications, databases, APIs, cloud services, and enterprise systems, including scripts, tools, and automated workflows that improve efficiency, consistency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with developers, cybersecurity personnel, system administrators, database administrators, and customer stakeholders while maintaining technical documentation for cloud architecture, system configurations, security controls, application integrations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
- Due to customer requirements, U.S Citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW Security Clearance for duration of employment.
- Bachelor's level degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science.
- 3 years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks.
- CompTIA Security+ certification is a MUST.
