Position Description & Qualifications If you love high profile and challenging projects supporting the US Navy, Serco has a great opportunity for you! Serco's Maritime Engineering, Technology and Sustainment (METS) business unit employs a team of U.S. Navy Combat System experts based out of our Port Hueneme, CA location. Our goal is to provide our sailors with access to cutting edge technology by providing logistics planning services, configuration management and hardware design services in support of our nation's most advanced combat systems.
This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/transfer and maintain a Secret level security clearance post-employment. In this role, you will:
* Provide logistics planning services, gathering material requirements from team members, selecting vendors, preparing buy lists and scheduling procurements. These procurements will then be tracked through the various stages of acquisition, shipping and delivery.
* Provide and update procurement, tracking and delivery spreadsheets to support material management. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel will be required to complete this tasking including formulas, data sorting and filtering, and formatting.
* Be responsible for configuration management, tracking and maintaining shipboard and land-based hardware material inventories, documentation, product releases, and hardware engineering changes.
* Work closely with the Navy Configuration Control Board in defining and implementing procedures for releasing new hardware products and changes, and tracking them throughout their entire life cycle.
* Provide quality assurance for shipments, verifying materials, correct part/serial numbers and quantities.
* Participate in 2-4 customer meetings on-site per week to plan procurements, report status, and organize the material inventory.
* Provide daily interface with customers in meetings, via phone calls and over email to communicate requirements, status and issues.
* Prepare status reports of deliveries and presentation materials for customer meetings.
* Track serial numbers on incoming and outgoing shipments using bills of lading, invoices, or other records. Verify materials received are as planned.
* Pull configuration management information from technical drawings, with and without the assistance of engineering personnel.
* Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. To be successful in this role, you will have:
* U.S. Citizenship
* Have an active DoD Secret security clearance
* High School Diploma
* At least 3 years of related experience (Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data)
* Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of the practices, policies, procedures, and requirements involved in configuration management and logistics Preferred Requirements:
* Associate's Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
* At least 8 years related experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for comparable work experience.
